There has been a lot of talk in the media lately about solicitors paying referal fees – basically a solicitor will pay upto £750 for your details  if you ahve had an accident and then regard this as an expense to be off-set against the legal fees they will recover when they deal with your claim however as the average solicitors costs for a straight forward road traffic accident is in the region of £12-1400.00 you have to ask yourself how do they make a profit when they are giving over 50% of their costs away just to aquirte the case?

In some cases the answer is easy – have the matter dealt with by an untrainined, unqaulifed keyboard basher who is under enormous pressure to settle your case as quickly as possible without due regard for your injuries and losses and what your claim may really be worth.
